Yes, it'a tear jerker.
And a bit of trivia. The scene in the bar where he's giving up and he prays... the tear was real. It wasn't scripted, so Capra just had the camera move in on it.
No, I had never seen the entire movie from beginning to end..just bits and pieces here and there. It's my dh's favorite movie, so when I saw that it was released on DVD, I bought it.
